"Nashville-Hot" Style Crispy Chicken Tenders with Herb & Honey Glaze

This recipe delivers the ultimate crispy, juicy, and flavour-packed chicken experience. We achieve the iconic "Nashville-Hot" effect not with sugar-laden sauces, but by frying in our F N Good Food Garlic Infused Oil, then tossing the tenders in our F N Good Food Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices Seasoning for a powerful, savoury kick. A quick, sticky-sweet glaze made with a touch of your favourite honey (or sugar-free alternative) balances the heat perfectly.

    Yields: 3-4 servings
Prep time: 20 minutes (+ optional 1-hour marinating)
    Cook time: 15 minutes

Ingredients For the Chicken & Marinade:

    · 1.5 lbs (approx. 700g) chicken breast tenders, or chicken breasts cut into strips
    · 1 cup buttermilk (or plain, unsweetened yogurt thinned with a splash of water)
    · 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

    For the Dredge & Frying:

    · 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 baking flour)
    · 1 tsp paprika
    · 1 tsp garlic powder
    · ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
    · 1 cup F N Good Food Garlic Infused Oil (or Chili Infused Oil for extra heat), for frying

For the Herb & Honey Glaze:

    · 3 tbsp hot honey (or regular honey mixed with ¼ tsp cayenne)
    · 1 tbsp unsalted butter
    · Flaky sea salt, for finishing

    Instructions

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken (optional for Extra Tenderness)

    1. In a bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, 2 tsp of the F N Good Food Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices Seasoning, and hot sauce (if using).
    2. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.

    Step 2: Prepare the Dredge

    1. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, 1 tbsp of the F N Good Food Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices Seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne. Whisk well to distribute the spices evenly.

Step 3: Dredge and Rest the Chicken

    1. Remove a chicken tender from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off.
    2. Dredge it thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing to adhere. Shake off any excess.
    3. Place the coated tender on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Repeat with all tenders.
    4. Let the coated chicken rest for 10-15 minutes. This helps the coating set and adhere during frying.

    Step 4: Fry the Chicken

    1. In a large, heavy-bottomed skillet (cast iron is ideal), heat the F N Good Food Garlic Infused Oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers (about 350°F/175°C). You can test it by dropping a small pinch of flour into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.
    2. Working in batches to avoid crowding, carefully place the chicken tenders in the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until deep golden brown, crispy, and cooked through.
    3. Transfer the cooked tenders to a clean wire rack set over a paper towel-lined tray. Immediately sprinkle lightly with some of the remaining F N Good Food Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices Seasoning.

Step 5: Make the Glaze & Finish

    1. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot honey, butter, and the final 1 tsp of F N Good Food Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices Seasoning. Heat gently until the butter is melted and the mixture is bubbly.
    2. Place the crispy chicken tenders in a large bowl. Drizzle the warm glaze over them and toss gently to coat, or serve the glaze on the side for dipping.
    3. Transfer to a serving platter and finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
